1. Who we are

choicestudy.co.uk (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent informational guide to the Spinbob online casino for UK players. We are not the casino operator. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the controller of the limited personal data described in this policy.

We process personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

This policy covers this website only. When you follow a link to a casino or any other website, that organisation’s own privacy policy applies. We never receive your casino account details, payment information or identity documents.

2. What data we collect

Server and security logs

Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure automatically records technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages requested, the referring page and the date and time. We use this to deliver the website, keep it secure, prevent abuse and fix errors.

Cookies and analytics

We aim to keep cookies to a minimum. Our hosting and security provider may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from bots and attacks. If we use analytics to understand which pages are useful, we prefer privacy-friendly, aggregated measurement that doesn’t identify you. Where any non-essential cookies are used, we will ask for your consent first. See section 5 for more detail.

Question form submissions

If you send us a question through the form on our support page, we collect what you enter, typically your question, an optional name and an email address if you want a reply. Please don’t include passwords, card numbers or identity documents; we don’t need them and can’t help with account-specific issues.

Affiliate click tracking

Some links on this website are affiliate links. When you click one, the affiliate network or operator may set cookies or record a click identifier on their systems so they can attribute a sign-up to us. We receive aggregated reports (for example, numbers of clicks and registrations), not your name or account details. That tracking is carried out under the partner’s own privacy policy.

3. How and why we use your data

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced them against your rights and expectations. You can object at any time (see section 8).

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell personal data.

4. Children

This website is intended only for people aged 18 or over in the United Kingdom. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We group them as follows:

  • Strictly necessary — set by our hosting and security provider to protect the website and keep it working. These don’t require consent.
  • Analytics — only used if enabled, and only with your consent where the law requires it.
  • Affiliate cookies — set by partners when you click an affiliate link and land on their site, under their own cookie policies.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the website working properly.

6. Who we share data with

We share personal data only where needed:

  • Hosting and security provider — our website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes server logs and security data on our behalf to deliver and protect the website.
  • Affiliate networks and operators — they track clicks on affiliate links on their own systems. We don’t pass them your name, email or form submissions.
  • Email or form-handling services — used to receive and respond to your questions, acting on our instructions.
  • Authorities — where we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid court order.

7. How long we keep data

  • Server and security logs — kept for a short period, typically no longer than 30 days, unless needed to investigate a security incident.
  • Question form submissions — kept for up to 12 months after we’ve answered, then deleted.
  • Aggregated analytics and affiliate reports — these don’t identify you and may be kept for longer for business records.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Portability — receive data you provided in a reusable format, where applicable
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, where we rely on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our support page. We will respond within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

9. International transfers

Our service providers, including Cloudflare, may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to standard contractual clauses.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted HTTPS connections and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the law, our service providers or how the website works. The “last updated” date at the top shows the latest revision. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.

12. Contact

For any privacy question or request, please use the form on our support page. For questions about data held by a casino operator, contact that operator directly using the details in its own privacy policy. You can also read our terms and conditions and responsible gambling page.
